An experienced Web Developer (PHP) is required to join a reputable and longstanding award-winning business. This organisation is located in West Devon and is commutable from Okehampton, Exeter, Moretonhampstead and Newton Abbot.

Web Developer (PHP) responsibilities include...

This employer is working in partnership with a local web development agency to produce a new company website. The appointed candidate will initially work with this agency to understand the site architecture and then in time will take responsibility for providing steady –state support for the finished site after it’s launched. This will include training other staff members and developing new functionality in response to change requests.

In the earlier stages of this role the appointed candidate will be responsible for developing a back end integration platform allowing for this site to be integrated with larger affiliate sites.

The successful applicant will be a stand -alone web developer so will get considerable responsibility but will also have support from the web development agency when required.

Web Developer (PHP) requirements include...

To be considered for the role candidates will need to meet the majority of the following skills and attributes:

  • Possess at least three years’ experience of commercial web development
  • Proven experience of working with PHP Frameworks: Zend, Codeigniter, Yii, Cakephp
  • Experience of working with MVC and MySQL
  • Experience of working with Javascript Frameworks: Angular JS, Ember, Polymer, Aurelia, Backbone (Experience of working with Angular JS would be highly desirable)
  • Have previous experience of working on E-Commerce applications with a clear understanding of security basics
  • Good understanding of Apache configuration
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to multi-task and have a flexible approach to work
  • Experience of working with Craft CMS and any PHP certification would be highly advantageous

This is a brand new role for the organisation and will give the appointed candidate the opportunity to take ownership for this employers’ website which plays a critical part in their day to day business operations.

Benefits

In return, my client is looking to offer a basic salary of £30,000 - £35,000 DOE plus company benefits.
