Exciting 9 month FTC maternity cover role for a Fundraising Manager for an established charity based in Exeter. The aim of this role is to lead and manage the overall charities fundraising plan, budget, applications and relationships. To work closely with our healthcare team and income generations team to identify funding opportunities and match them with the appropriate trust/funder.

Fundraising Manager responsibilities include...

  • To identify, research, write and coordinate applications to Trusts and be responsible for updating and reporting to them
  • To identify core and capital funding needs of the organisation
  • To lead and manage the overall organisations Major donor fundraising plan and budget.
  • To conduct appropriate research, run engagement programmes, ensure ongoing relationships and make approaches for funding.
  • To plan, monitor and manage the trust and major donor budget,
  • To work with key staff members to identify suitable capital and revenue funding,
  • To prepare and send detailed appropriate applications to charitable trusts and foundations.
  • To manage and grow the database of existing and potential trusts and major donors, developing an ongoing pipeline for both income streams.
  • To ensure the highest standards of prospect management for all application/approaches and record keeping. 
  • To research, implement and develop donor care and communication strategies
  • To keep informed of sector-wide developments
  • To keep up to date on legal, health and safety and insurance requirements

Fundraising Manager requirements include...

  •   At least 3 years experience in trust fundraising and or major donor fundraising
  • A strong understanding of different types of trust applications, how to build a pipeline, research and match projects
  • Excellent bid writing and communications skills are essential
  • Understanding of how to engage and identify potential major donors and develop donations
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • IT competent in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Raisers edge
  • Excellent bid writing skills
  • The ability to understand and complex situations quickly and communicate complex information
  • Strong research and project management skills
