Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting for an experienced Travel Litigation Lawyer to join our client’s busy office based in Exeter at either Associate or Senior Associate level. The successful candidate will be joining a fantastic and supportive team of Lawyers with a clear path for further progression.

Travel Litigation Lawyer- Associate or Senior Associate SD261 responsibilities include...

Responsibilities of a Travel Litigation Lawyer will include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising and representing clients in relation to Travel Litigation matters, whether through Litigation, Arbitration or ADR, with minimal supervision.
  • You will advise on both Claimant and Defendant matters, jurisdictional claims in England and Wales, foreign jurisdictional claims and you will also provide advice on contractual matters concerning insurance policies
  • You will be required to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and market intermediaries
  • You will be a proactive business developer, promoting both yourself and the firm at local events
  • You will participate in firm-wide and departmental meetings, training sessions and social events, including travelling to internal meetings or attending via video-co. You will also ensure the Exeter team is fully integrated with the firm's wider Litigation department nationally
  • You will be responsible for delegating client work to junior fee-earners as appropriate
  • You will contribute effectively to department and firm wide performance goals
  • You will ensure files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures

Background/Skills of a Travel Litigation Lawyer:

  • You will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE and a broad skillset concerning Travel Litigation matters
  • You will have a solid academic record
  • You will have a proven track record in business development
  • You will have substantial client management experience with a strong client focus
  • You will have the ability to manage files independently or with minimal supervision
  • You will have experience of managing and supervising junior fee-earners
