Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced Editor and Content Writer for our high-growth client based in Newton Abbot. You will be responsible for creating content for members in the form of various training and presentation formats. The content will be developed from technical and scientific reports and documents, and presented to the members in a user friendly, concise and clear manner. Working closely with the contributors, designers and industry experts you will interpret and translate the writing and create engaging content in the style and tone to suit the audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and proofread resources, including manuals, booklets and presentation slides
  • Lay out and format documents using Company templates and ensure documents represent the brand
  • Create high quality, visually appealing presentation slides in accordance with brand guidelines
  • Work to deadlines and ensure all materials are completed and printed when needed
  • Manage online document management systems, such as SharePoint (Office 365)
  • Liaise with experts for technical content
  • Liaise with external designers

Technical Content Writer / Editor requirements include...

Requirements:

  • Experience writing for a variety of platforms
  • Excellent writing skills, with experience adapting writing style to suit changing audiences
  • Proven experience copy-editing and proof-reading
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create visually appealing materials whilst maintaining uniformity for brand purposes
  • An organised approach to work, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign

The successful candidate will already have strong experience in this field, and will be ready to further build on their skills and experience. Current or recent experience of writing for a a variety of platforms and audiences is essential, as is sub editing, copy editing and proof reading experience. We are seeking an individual who takes pride in their work and maintains high standards of accuracy in all content-creation.
