Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced 3rd Line Technical Consultant to join our client, a leading IT service provider in Exeter. This is a permanent position, and the purpose of this role is to provide technical guidance and services in all aspects of business systems integration. 

Technical Consultant - 3rd Line responsibilities include...

Participate in and contribute to the strategic direction of the technical function in line with the Company’s vision

  • Design and deploy a range of technology solutions
  • Use project management methodology to lead and manage a range of assignments
  • Accompany Sales Consultants and Account Managers to external customer meetings to assist with new business opportunities
  • Promote a consistent approach to customer service by sharing your technical knowledge and expertise across the department
  • Attend department meetings, where you will be given the opportunity to discuss work in progress, offer insights and discuss issues for resolutions

Technical Consultant - 3rd Line requirements include...

  • Experience in the specification, design and deployment of a range of core products
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on short and long-term priorities, always keeping the customer in mind
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive background in Microsoft Windows Server & Active Directory deployment, migration and configuration
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware
  • iSCSI SAN technologies deployment, migration and configuration experience
  • A background in server hardware installation, configuration and support
  • LAN, WAN or WLAN deployment, migration and support
  • Good understanding of network protocols

This is a permanent, full time position working for a respected and well-established business in Exeter. You will form part of a dynamic IT systems integration and support team, and have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the department.

An excellent understanding of core server infrastructure implementation and associated migration is essential. You must have a full UK driving license, as this role will involve both remote and on-site working.
