Cathedral Appointments have an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer service/marketing professional to join a successful charity in Exeter on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the charity’s supporter care network to generate income.

Duties include:

  • To develop and implement plans to engage and retain existing supporters, to monitor success, and to adjust plans where needed
  • To manage teams across the charity to ensure that supporters are getting the most relevant information at the right time
  • To manage and grow individual giving income, and to develop income from events, campaigns, and products
  • To work with healthcare colleagues and businesses to improve communications and donations
  • To ensure that the quality of customer data is stored appropriately and in accordance with the charity’s policy

Supporter Relationships Manager requirements include...

Candidates would ideally have fundraising experience although candidates with a strong understanding of good customer service, relationship management, and knowledge of marketing would also be considered. Excellent IT skills are essential – particularly Microsoft Office – and demonstrable experience of operating databases.

Key skills and Experience:

  • Experience of people management, budget management, and a knowledge of database management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels: both verbally and in writing
  • Experience of developing a customer/donor recruitment, retention, and communications plan would
  • A track record in managing direct marketing appeals
  • Experience of setting and managing annual plans and budgets in relation to direct marketing
  • Good research, evaluation, and monitoring skills
  • Experience of leading, managing, motivating, and developing a range of staff
