Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced Software Testing Co-ordinator to join a well-established, high growth business in Newton Abbot. The post holder will report to the IT & Systems Manager; the key purpose of this role is to ensure the quality of the solutions delivered by our software development partners. This is a 12-month fixed term contract, so the successful candidate should be available for at least 12 months. 

Software Testing Co-ordinator responsibilities include...

  • Carry out robust testing and quality assurance on software delivered by partners to ensure it meets project specifications
  • Put in place standard procedures and processes for all software testing
  • Assist the IT Manager in identifying business requirements that may be met by the development of new software systems
  • Work with the IT Manager and team managers to produce specifications for new developments
  • Work with the software development partners to ensure projects are understood and resources planned appropriately
  • Document, track and monitor developments as they progress flagging up concerns to the IT Manager as appropriate
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company databases and software applications
  • Remain informed on software updates, upgrades and additional services
  • Contribute to team and process development 

Software Testing Co-ordinator requirements include...

  • Previous experience in a software testing/analyst role
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle
  • Organised, methodical and thorough
  • Excellent problem solving/trouble shooting skills
  • Willingness to travel to partners’ offices to facilitate close working with their development team
  • Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Knowledge of SQL desirable

The successful candidate will ensure that solutions are robustly tested, working closely with colleagues and communicating feedback to partners.  This will be a varied and exciting role based on project requirements.  You may join a project at the initial implementation stages to help identify business requirements, prepare the specification or assess potential risks; or you may be brought on to a project midway through, when testing becomes a key requirement.
