Our Exeter-based client is seeking to appoint a SharePoint Consultant with the ability to install and configure SharePoint software and develop web parts to add to the SharePoint system to ensure that specific client requirements are met. The role will also require the successful candidate to develop scripts to deploy updates to an already developed core solution. The successful candidate will deliver on multiple projects based around SharePoint including functionality that will integrate other elements of Office 365. 

SharePoint Consultant responsibilities include...

  • To work closely with the SharePoint team to deliver SharePoint projects 
  • To attend client meetings, demonstrating the capabilities of Office 365 in a semi-technical manner that shows the benefits of the solution
  • To work with clients to establish their requirements, documenting a clear set of requirements based on SMART objectives
  •  To support the sales team in developing Office 365 opportunities, and delivering events and webinars around the topic of Office 365
  • To ensure that industry standard development methodologies are kept to modern best practice
  • To problem solve and manage complaints to resolution stage.
  • To support the company’s culture of continuous improvement (business and people) and knowledge management
  • Creating SharePoint sites including publishing, document centres and enterprise search sites
  • Creating forms and workflows in SharePoint
  • To accurately record fault detail and interact this detail to customers

Although the role focuses primarily on SharePoint Online, there is an expectation that the successful candidate should be able to work with on-premise versions of SharePoint.

SharePoint Consultant requirements include...

Applicants should be capable of installing and configuring SharePoint and developing web parts to put into the SharePoint system. Basic knowledge of Windows O/S and SQL Server and also knowledge of C#, Visual Basic, HTML, jQuery, JavaScript and ASPX is required.

  • Confidence and drive with the ability to feedback on issues that may hinder project progression
  • Excellent programming skills with a good appreciation of design, usability and interactivity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the creative ability to turn clients' ideas into workable plans
  • Able to work flexibly to deadlines, utilizing excellent organizational skills 
  •  An understanding of software development standards and a commitment to keep up to date with technology: proactively researching new technologies and advising on their use
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
