This is an important and varied management role, where you will be responsible for the forecasting, stock management, procurement and warehousing for the ingredients for the Exeter division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and negotiate annual purchasing contracts for raw materials.
  • Actively identify, find and setup new strategic processors alongside technical support for continued supply, growth and opportunities within the market.
  • Manage all supplier relationships through contract negotiations, supply chain mapping, best practises and ongoing support to ensure a streamlined process.
  • Evaluate seasonal demand, forecasts, reports and inside market knowledge
  • Management of the stock-flow of goods
  • Identifying seasonal peaks and correct levels of stock required for each product
  • Design, create and oversee a range of reports for supply chain, sales and purchasing.
  • Create and manage a range of KPI’s to identify issues, opportunities and find solutions to streamline processes, reduce costs and improve profit.
  • Ensure all stock is accompanied by appropriate documentation throughout the supply chain.
  • Proactively contribute to development requirements of Stock Management IT systems.
  • Minimize stock holding value whilst ensuring optimal service level to clients.
  • Minimize stock write-off figure through effective stock management.
  • Use multiple delivery contracts to forecast stock requirements.
  • Raw material planning for production.
  • Identify and manage new storage and haulier opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and meet the ever increasing demand from the business.

Required Skills and Experience: 

·         Relevant purchasing/stock control experience in a high volume, multi SKU manufacturing industry is essential for this role.

·         Experience demonstrating cost saving solutions implemented in previous roles.

·         Integrity and credibility with a track record of delivery of financial targets.

·         Strong leadership skills that demonstrate a capability to motivate.

·         Good networker and negotiator.

·         Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.

·         Direct purchasing experience in an FMCG business.

·         Previous experience of buying food/drink would be advantageous.

·         Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) would be advantageous.

There is a competitive salary on offer, a good benefits package and based in an easily accessible location in Exeter. You will work Monday to Friday (09:00-17:30) however on occasions it may be necessary to work more hours to fulfil the role. There will be a requirement for travelling and unsociable hours are attached to the role.
