Property Litigation Solicitor- Cathedral Appointments have a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Property Litigation Solicitor to join a regional Exeter law firm with an international presence.  The ideal candidate will be able to manage and develop the Property Litigation department and work as part of a successful Litigation team.

Responsibilities of Property Litigation Solicitor will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Dealing with a varied caseload of Property Litigation matters
  • You will also supervise and mentor Paralegals and Trainees
  • You will undertake business development and attend networking events in order to promote both yourself and the firm

Property Litigation Solicitor SD269 requirements include...

Specific Experience Required of a Property Litigation Solicitor: 

·         Acting for commercial and private clients (including developers, owners of commercial and residential property portfolios, secured lenders, landed estates and rural businesses) in all types of property dispute (both litigation and ADR) including the following: 

-          commercial landlord and tenant

-          residential landlord and tenant

-          agricultural landlord and tenant

-          Land Registry disputes, proceedings in the Land Registry Division of the Property Chamber (First Tier Tribunal), applications relating to adverse possession, registration of easements, priorities, overriding interests

-          mortgages – enforcement

-          disputes relating to interpretation and enforcement of various property agreements and establishment and enforcement of various property rights

-          boundary disputes and party walls

-          claims in nuisance, trespass and breach of statutory duty

-          negligence claims against professionals in relation to property matters

-          claims for misrepresentation in relation to property transactions

-          conveyancing disputes, failure to complete, enforcement of contracts

-          disputes relating to public rights of way 

Background/Skills of a Property Litigation Solicitor:

  • You will be a highly experienced Property Litigation Solicitor
  • You will be able to work unsupervised
  • You will have a proven track record of business development and creating business opportunities
  • You will be able to mentor and supervise Paralegals and Trainees
  • You will be highly organised, with exceptional communication skills, a keen eye for detail and a professional, confident manner
  • You will have excellent IT skills; including the use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • You will have a full driving licence and access to a car with the ability to work from other offices as required
