Cathedral Appointments is looking for a Project Key Worker to join our social enterprise client for a FTC until December 2019. The role is part of an exciting new project they are running to help to support and engage socially excluded young people who are unemployed or economically inactive to move towards employment, education or training. The programme focuses on 5 key employability skills: communication; customer service; organisation; problem solving; team work and you will be working with young people to help them develop their own plan. Part time and full time will be considered for this role (minimum 3 days) and we have two posts available; one to cover the Devon area and one to cover Somerset.

Project Key Worker responsibilities include...

Responsibilities of the Project Key Worker:

  • To engage young people in the project and support them and support them
  • To identify barriers to the young people and seek strategies to overcome these
  • Coordinate individual action plans and monitor progress
  • To build and maintain effective working relationships with professional agencies and partners
  • To work with employers to source work experience for young people on the programme
  • Support groups of young people in their personal development and develop group work programmes
  • Effectively manage the Health and Safety and welfare of clients whilst under your supervision
  • Record all work on the Caseload Management System
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times

Project Key Worker requirements include...

Requirements of the Project Key Worker:

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage caseload effectively
  • Motivate and engage young people
  • Proven experience of supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and personal progress
  • Work independently and within a larger team in a past paced and demanding environment
  • Experience working in partnership with other agencies
  • Effective IT skills and good record keeping
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, equal opportunities and Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours where necessary (some weekend and evenings)
  • Ability to travel extensively within designated area
  • Level 4 qualification in careers advice or equivalent is highly desirable but not essential

The ideal candidate will be passionate and enthusiastic with a desire to help young people exceed in employment, education or training. This is a fantastic opportunity to get young people interested an exciting project so experience working in a similar role is essential.
