Cathedral Appointments is looking for a Project Coordinator to support with work experience projects running across the south west primarily in the Devon and Somerset region. Candidates must have their own car as frequent travel across the region will be required.

The role is focused on our clients’ commitment to get more young people interested in working within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and as such you will be working as part of a specific team supporting schools across the region to get young people into meaningful work experience where they can get a further understanding of working within the STEM industries.  

The role will give you the opportunity to build relationships with a range of businesses across the region while also working with secondary school teachers to get children interested in the program. 

Project Coordinator responsibilities include...

  • Support a group of secondary schools to develop a program that supports work experience
  • Engage with a range of organisations that focus on STEM work and encourage them to support young people into the industry by offering work experience
  • Actively work as part of the team to meet delivery targets
  • Promote the marketing and communication associated with the project 

Project Coordinator requirements include...

  • Previous experience in a coordinator role is desirable
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • Confident in building up new relationships with schools and businesses
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • An interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is an advantage 

The ideal candidate will ideally have project management skills and have experience working with stakeholders. Experience working in school would be advantage but not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to get young people interested in this exciting and growing area of industry while also developing your own project management skills when working alongside the project manager.
