Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting an experienced Production Planner for a technical solutions manufacturer based in Ashburton, Devon. The Production Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products through the complete production cycle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management of the production schedule in the MRP system for manufactured and purchased parts. 
  • Balance current and future customer demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
  • Maintain capacity plan for all departments to assure customer requests do not exceed capacity.  
  • Review new sales requests and determine delivery dates.
  • Monitor and direct MRP requirements to ensure timely release of jobs.
  • Review backlog list of open sales orders.
  • Monitor progress of vendors against agreed delivery dates.
  • Monitor progress of shop floor against agreed delivery dates.
  • Process ad-hoc purchase orders.

Production Planner requirements include...

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all areas of the business.
  • Previous experience in a production planning/purchasing position is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes is essential.
  • Good IT skills, familiar with Word, Excel etc.
  • Previous knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
