Production Pattern Cutter

My client, an international clothing supplier, is looking to recruit an experienced Production Pattern Cutter to support and join their buying team. With their warehouse and showroom based in Newton Abbot, they stock their own products as well as a range of items from other well-known UK brands. This company is passionate about what they do so an interest in the arts would be beneficial. The role will give you the opportunity to work as part of the wider production team working on new products and designs as well as supporting the buyer with the sourcing of new products and the shipping of existing stock. This is a varied role and can be offered on either a full time or a part time basis.  

Production Pattern Cutter responsibilities include...

Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for fit sessions, block/pattern set up, and pattern amendments
  • Assist with necessary fabric and garment wash tests 
  • Suggest and make changes to the fit and style of garments to ease construction speed and increase margins
  • Assist the buyer with the sourcing and development of new products and checking the development samples.
  • Check shipment samples for approving shipment.
  • Support the customer services team with customer queries regarding fit and quality issues

Production Pattern Cutter requirements include...

Requirements:

  • Must have a proven track record as a production pattern cutter using CAD system
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Understand the fundamental rules of pattern cutting, balance, re blocking & balance
  • Good eye for detail
  • Solution orientated & be driven and adaptable
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Be competent with MS Office
