Summary of Position

To support the team of Financial Planners in providing suitable investment solutions for clients and ensuring that these are implemented effectively. Part of the commentary team for investment reviews and market movement.

This role could suit a Paraplanner who is looking for a more investment focused role. With more DM and investment and market arena. Which is why a degree of flexibility on either CISI or CII. But minimum of CII level 4.

Main Duties

  • Carry out fund research and selection
  • Prepare investment committee reports
  • Conduct DFM performance analysis
  • Conduct platform research
  • Create bespoke client portfolios
  • Maintain dealing spreadsheet
  • Implement dealing instructions
  • Monitor platform and SIPP cash balances
  • Process DFM valuation reports
  • Carry out CGT reviews and prepare suitable recommendations
  • Maintain investment process documentation
  • Draft market commentaries.
  • Attend client meetings as required

Portfolio Research Manager requirements include...


  • CISI Level 4 Investment Management Qualification
  • CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning - desirable - but not essential
  • CII Level 6 or CISI 7 Longer term plan as desireable but not essential
