Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced Team Leader or People Manager with extensive administration and/or PA experience for a leadership position in Exeter. You will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of all PA and administrative support in an exciting and well-regarded Exeter based company. Your line management duties will be vast and varied, and the successful candidate will be adaptable with excellent communication skills and a strong background in a man-management position.

People and Administration Manager responsibilities include...

  • Work with the Head of Department to manage internal communications, advise on performance and continually review the professional support function.
  • Performance manage direct reports, conduct appraisals, provide continual feedback, identify top talent and any training needs and coordinate accordingly
  • Monitor and actively manage sickness or unauthorised absence, manage requests for overtime and holidays, ensuring adequate cover throughout the department
  • Lead regular team meetings, ensuring effective use of resources and fair allocation of workloads between teams
  • Review and update cost allocations regularly and proactively identifying the need for additional resources when required
  • Maintain an awareness of all business activity, keeping up to date with key clients and areas for business development
  • Maintain open and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels across the firm

People and Administration Manager requirements include...

  • Working knowledge of PA duties and exposure within a similar role
  • Experience of people management, including appraisals, performance management and disciplinaries
  • Competent with IT, particularly all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and influence others
  • Able to work to conflicting priorities and deal with pressure
  • First class organisational skills
