Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager on a full-time basis to join a leading West Country distribution service based in Saltash. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the timely, accurate, and confidential processing and reporting of the company payroll.  The role covers a fortnightly payroll process.  The role requires an organised individual who can meet strict deadlines. 

Payroll Manager responsibilities include...

Duties include:

  • Providing accurate and timely calculation of Store employees pay, holiday pay, sick pay, and overtime.
  • Completing payroll journals to strict deadlines.
  • Completing fiscal year and procedures accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining accurate up-to-date attendance records and prompt return of authorised statutory forms.
  • Resolving customer queries.
  • Advising the company on new and existing payment systems to ensure efficient and cost-effective system running and maintenance.
  • Supervising and training staff to ensure strict deadlines are met. 

Payroll Manager requirements include...

Key Skills and Experience:

  • A highly-organised individual who is a strong communicator, numerate, and who is able to accurately meet strict deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of government initiatives e.g., auto enrolment, apprenticeship levy.
  • Experience of working with Sage 200, CINTRA, and biometric time and attendance systems would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work well, and calmly, under pressure.
