Payroll Clerk

Exciting opportunity for a Payroll clerk for my client, a successful accountancy practice in Exeter. Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will provide an efficient and effective payroll administration service for a wide range of clients.

Payroll Clerk responsibilities include...

  • Process and submit monthly and weekly client payroll using Sage Payroll
  • To administer the statutory sick pay, statutory maternity pay and statutory Paternity Pay Schemes.
  • To run the automatic enrolment process
  • To process joiners and leavers
  • To record sickness and other absences
  • To complete various forms required by HM Revenue & Customs
  • To liaise with client over the phone, email and letter

Payroll Clerk requirements include...

  • Experience of working in an Accountancy practice or within a payroll bureau
  • Experience of using Sage Payroll is advantageous
  • Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation
  • A good working knowledge of RTI and end of year processes
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Auto Enrolment legislation is desired
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
  • The ability to work under pressure and possibly deal with multiple payrolls
  • Methodical in your approach
  • A driving licence and car access would be advantageous
