Payroll Assistant opportunity working for a fantastic employer with a great reputation. Based in Truro, this role will assist in the operation of a busy and client focused payroll office. 

Payroll Assistant responsibilities include...

  • To provide a weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll service for a wide-range of clients
  • Using SAGE payroll to process payroll runs
  • Administering Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP) schemes
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Completing various forms required by HMRC
  • Processing year end procedures
  • Administering Auto Enrolment procedures
  • Administering attachment of earnings orders and advising clients of the payments due to the relevant authority
  • Providing advice to clients in relation to pay, taxation and National Insurance issues
  • Resolving queries and keeping the Payroll Manager briefed 

Payroll Assistant requirements include...

  • Experience in operating a payroll, including technical aspects of SSP, SMP, P45 and other statutory entitlements
  • Experience in Auto Enrolment procedures
  • A payroll qualification would be desired
  • Knowledge of CIS
  • Working knowledge of RTI administration
  • Accurate, numerate with a methodical and organised approach to work.
