We are looking to recruit a part time Debt Manager, to be based in my clients Exeter office. This role is 18.5 hours a week and will involve some travel to my client’s other sites, so we are looking for someone who can drive and has access to a car. The aim of this position is to achieve effective income management, through preventative measures and early intervention, aiming to maximise income for the company.

Part-time Debt Manager – 18.5 hours per week responsibilities include...

·         Management of client arrears, taking early and effective escalation of actions

·         Represent the company in legal proceedings and at relevant court hearings

·         To operate best practice in monitoring and continually improving performance

·         To collect current client debts

·         To take action to prevent current arrears

·         To carry out home and office visits at key recovery action stages

·         To complete court applications for all debt related claims

·         To assist other team members/department by attending court in connection to Small Claims Hearings

·         To promote and set up new direct debits

·         To negotiate realistic repayment plans for arrears and debts

·         Tailor any recovery approach to meet the needs of clients

·         To monitor and deal with any income correspondence

·         To manage complaints effectively.

·         To liaise with the insolvency services where claims for bankruptcy or debt relief orders are filed with the court.

·         To liaise with other departments and other external agencies as required.

·         To maintain and update the computer and manual records ensuring information is accurate

Part-time Debt Manager – 18.5 hours per week requirements include...

·         A background in Income Recovery, Credit Control or experience of chasing commercial debt.

·         Experience of working to strict targets and being result driven is essential.

·         Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude will be a great benefit.

·         A confident, astute and robust personality

·         Energy and enthusiasm

·         Previous experience is resolving complaints

·         Previous experience is court case preparation and presentation is desirable

·         The ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of people 

Some of the key duties and responsibilities for this role include being accountable for income collection and debt reduction, including rent and service charges, using financial inclusion and support to effectively reduce debt. You will identify and overcome obstacles, and provide a high level of customer service.
