Cathedral Appointments currently have an excellent opportunity for someone to join our client’s team based in Exeter as a Mediation Assistant. 

Mediation Assistant responsibilities include...

  • To observe strict confidentiality at all times
  • To provide high quality secretarial and administrative assistance
  • To use the correct office systems as described in the Mediation Manual
  • To maintain files and keep filing up to date
  • To collect and take post
  • To make appointments for clients and text reminders
  • To carry out MIAMS procedures
  • To collate and input all relevant information for management software system
  • To carry out conflict checks
  • To deal with queries from existing clients about specific matters relating to their case
  • To deal with queries from prospective clients about mediation process
  • To take detailed referrals from solicitors and self-referrals from individuals
  • To undertake such additional work as the Directors may reasonably require
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Close files for remote Mediators

Mediation Assistant requirements include...

  • Ideally, experience working as a Family Legal Secretary (not essential)
  • Excellent audio and copy typing skills, ideally within minimum speeds of 60wpm
  • Good telephone skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and confident manner
  • Good administrative skills
  • Ability to prioritise work accordingly
  • Understanding of mediation would be highly desirable, but is not essential
