Due to continued expansion and growth; Cathedral Appointments are now looking to appoint an experienced IT recruitment consultant to join their well-established team based in the centre of Exeter. Cathedral Appointments are Exeter’s longest standing independent recruitment agency and have successfully been recruiting white collar roles across the wider South West since 1988. During this time, the agency has built a high number of long standing relationships with some of the regions premier employers.

The appointed candidate will be responsible for managing a warm IT desk that is already handling a variety or senior and junior vacancies which include IT Management, IT Support, Web / Software Development and Systems Administration based positions. Clients range from locally based SME’s through to subsidiaries of major blue-chip organisations and the public sector.

The successful applicant will be required to manage existing client relationships, but also proactively build new relationships with the aim of continuing to uphold Cathedral Appointments reputation of being a provider of high quality recruitment services.

IT Recruitment Consultant responsibilities include...

  • Efficiently fill vacancies by using effective recruitment methods
  • Interview/assess suitable applicants through telephone and face to face interviewing techniques
  • Effectively use social media to source candidates and new prospect businesses
  • To regularly visit new and existing clients at their offices to maintain strong working relationships
  • Cross-sell other recruitment divisions services to existing clients
  • To attend industry specific networking events in order to build contacts and company profile
  • To hit and exceed monthly revenue targets
  • To be aware of relevant laws concerning employment agencies and businesses

IT Recruitment Consultant requirements include...

Candidates interested in the role will need to possess previous experience of IT recruitment and have a strong understanding of the IT sector as whole. All applicants must illustrate a proven track record of building and maintaining a profitable recruitment division. Candidates will have fantastic communication and interpersonal skills and must come across as being credible and knowledgeable at all times. Strong organisational and planning skills are essential as is an enthusiastic and proactive approach to work. It would be highly desirable but not essential for applicants to have a working knowledge of the South West market.

This role will suit experienced recruitment consultants who don’t want to work within a heavily targeted and KPI focused environment; but would rather have the autonomy, time and responsibility to successfully build a profitable division. Applications are also welcome from recruitment consultants who aren’t currently recruiting within the IT sector but have a genuine interest and desire to do so in the future.

All candidates must possess a full driving license and have access to a car.

We are looking to looking to offer a highly competitive basic salary plus excellent opportunities to earn various commissions and bonuses (we pay commission on all billing – no threshold)
