IT Operations Manager

Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to oversee key functions within the technical departments of a thriving Exeter-based business and help shape the future growth and success of their business. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact both on the overall business and clients and the post-holder will report directly to the Board, maintaining the technical strategy in line with key industry trends. This is a senior role and the successful candidate will drive the technology teams to improve service levels and ensure departments are working effectively together to add value to the overall business.

IT Operations Manager responsibilities include...

  • Act as technology lead to the technical teams within the business to enable a strong commercial focus and help drive the overall business forward.
  • Be responsible for the day to day operations of the technical teams including implementing new systems and processes.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and industry partners to aid delivery of the technical strategy and communicate future direction to employees and customers alike.
  • Carry out people management duties including appraisals, 1-1’s and management of objectives as well as supporting team leaders undertaking the same for the wider teams.
  • Take ownership of all aspects of the role, learning from failure and always looking to take positive, corrective action when necessary
  • Hold team meetings which enhance the team spirit and ensure open communication across the business
  • Work with the wider business to identify new trends in the market and introduce new products and services.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the technology teams.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for incident management both for employees and clients.
  • Setting SLA’s and ensuring the team are working towards and meeting such levels.

IT Operations Manager requirements include...

  • Experience within a senior IT operational role is key along with strong proven experience in stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven commercial experience of managing a team with the ability to lead, motivate and developer other being paramount.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to talk to people of all levels and to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong awareness of the customers’ needs and the ability to implement systems to better service them.
  • Experience of delivering IT strategy, processes and procedures to a business as well as implementing change when required.
