Cathedral Appointments are seeking a 1st line IT Helpdesk Technician to join a reputable professional services firm on a full-time basis in Taunton. The successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to resolve hardware, software, and IT issues in a friendly and adaptable team.

IT Helpdesk Technician responsibilities include...

  • Logging helpdesk calls and assisting to resolve 1st line issues
  • Setting up, maintaining, and administering computers, software, and IT peripherals
  • Providing telephone assistance to all business users
  • Monitoring client Data Backups and servers on a daily basis
  • Book out and set up IT equipment on request e.g. projectors and screens
  • Keeping an inventory of IT equipment
  • Maintaining excellent lines of communication between the IT users and helpdesks
  • Ensuring concise exchange of information and defining clear actions in dealings with colleagues and suppliers
  • Identifying and escalating problems to the appropriate source
  • Providing an effective interface to all other areas of IT

IT Helpdesk Technician requirements include...

  • Working knowledge of customer support environments
  • Proven technical skills and extensive knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from all areas and levels of the business
  • Ability to adapt to new situations with a pro-active attitude
