Our Client is a well established food manufacturer based in the heart of Devon offering an opportunity of Hygiene Supervisor to join their growing business. This is a new role for the company and will overseeing a team of 6 cleaners. The overall purpose for the Hygiene Supervisor will be to interpret, implement and monitor hygiene standards throughout the factory, giving regard to legislation, food technology and customer standards. You will ensure that cleaning is optimally planned, consistent with Production and Maintenance requirements in the Factory.

Hygiene Supervisor responsibilities include...

  • To prescribe the frequency and extent of cleans across all aspects of machinery, plant and general factory areas, ensuring that cleaning is completed to the required standard.
  • To monitor cleaning and GMP standards throughout the factory and the site.
  • To issue, revise and maintain Hygiene Standards, Procedures and Instructions.
  • To ensure the cleaning techniques used are examined, developed, verified and validated.
  • To ensure that comprehensive records are maintained and audited.
  • To keep up to date with all relevant legislation, food technology, customer requirements and best practice and to act as key contact for suppliers of all cleaning materials..
  • To champion hygiene across all aspects of the factory and work closely with other Departments to promote a high level of awareness of the importance of the Hygiene function.

Hygiene Supervisor requirements include...

  • Experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment
  • A strong working knowledge of food hygiene including HACCP & COSHH
  • Excellent team management and communication skills
  • Degree qualified in a scientific or technical discipline (Desirable)
  • Highly organised, self-motivated individual possessing drive and skills to promote continuous improvement
  • Proactive approach to problem solving for continuous improvement
