My client is recruiting an experienced and suitably qualified HR Manager for a 9-month Maternity Contract. The anticipated start date is mid December 2016, and working through to September 2017.

Demonstrable previous experience gained over several years at a senior level is required in a generalist HR role at HR Advisor or above. The successful candidate will be an experienced man-manager, and have an update and thorough knowledge of current UK employment legislation.

Human Resources Manager responsibilities include...


  • Ensure that all people management policies are developed and implemented consistently across the group companies and in line with organisation aims. 
  • Provide strategic HR support and advice to the senior teams ensuring that the latest legislation and best practice is taken into account.
  • Provide ongoing input to the remuneration policy of the business ensuring that external factors are taken into account.
  • Contribute to the professional development of managers as appropriate to enable them to effectively undertake their employee relations responsibilities.
  • Manage the provision of HR administration and data maintenance and ensure working time information is input to the HR and Payroll system to enable wages to be paid accurately and on time.
  • Work with the senior teams and communications managers to ensure effective and efficient staff communication and consultation.
  • To manage and develop the HR team so that the service provided is of the highest quality and appropriate to the needs of the businesses. 
  • To constantly review internal HR processes so that the service is considered responsive, easy to use and value for money.
  • To undertake project work for the Group HR Manager as requested.

This is a fantastic opportunity which requires some flexibility towards travel. There is a requirement for travel to other sites across the UK, occasionally at short notice.

The successful candidate will be:

·         Highly self-motivated

·         Possess excellent ability to organise and prioritise the work of the team

·         Effective presentation and communication skills including complex report writing

·         Technical competent with IT skills to a level which will enable effective use of computerised information systems, eg Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, email, web browsing.

·         Experience of HR databases
