HR & Training Manager opportunity for large multi-site distribution business.  The role of HR & Training Manager is required to provide a customer focused, comprehensive and pragmatic HR and development advice and support service and the management of a small dedicated HR team.

Key Responsibilities of the HR & Training Manager

  • To advise managers on recruitment and selection issues, including development of job descriptions, person specifications, the whole grading process, selection processes and participating in interview panels when necessary.
  • Ensure the effective induction and initial training of new employees.
  • Support line managers on issues related to employee relations and performance management. This includes developing managers’ skills in this area, through a coaching approach.
  • Deliver customer service training and management of the training programme.
  • Collate learning and development requests through discussions with line managers and feedback from performance reviews and develop a plan to address appropriate skills gaps.
  • Provide advice and play a major role in work reviews, job evaluations and change processes.
  • Manage the annual employee survey process, analyse results and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure Staff Handbook and all HR policies and procedures are up to date and in accordance with employment legislation.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc management information reports, to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence and performance management.

The ideal HR & Training Manager

  • Strong generalist HR skills, with previous multi-site HR Management experience
  • Current knowledge of employment legislation and human resources best practice
  • Team management / supervisory experience
  • Driving license, willingness to travel on occasions
  • CIPD qualified to level 7 ideally or studying towards
  • Evidence of coaching skills and delivery of customer services training
