9-month fixed term opportunity for an experienced level 5 qualified HR Officer HR Advisor based in Ashburton

Cathedral Appointments is recruiting for a 9-month FTC HR Officer level role for this fantastic business based in Ashburton. The role is required due to workload and current projects, my client is seeking someone with CIPD Level 5 or equivalent practical experience.

This is an extremely varied and busy role that will require the successful person to be able to manage the end to end recruitment procession and take on projects whilst also being hands on and operational when needed! All the administration is handled within this small team, and this post holder will also undertake certain administrative responsibilities as a regular part of their role.

A flexible and adaptable approach are essential, coupled with demonstrable recent experience to enable the person to hit the ground running and provide tangible support to this team at a busy time.

HR Officer (9-month FTC) responsibilities include...

Responsibilities for the HR Officer include:

  • Responsible for the end to end recruitment process, from creation of job descriptions, through to advertising, liaising with agencies, managing candidate experience, interview administration and appointment. This will also include applying for referencing and DBS checks.
  • Assisting with the transition of the HR Office to our new HQ in Exeter.
  • Support and advise managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Ensuring any advice is provided from an employment law perspective.
  • Assist with maintaining personnel records, ensuring compliance with GDPR at all times.
  • Assisting with the implementation of our new HRIS and maintain employee records.
  • Reviewing, creating and producing HR policies and procedures as required.
  • Support HR projects as defined by the Head of HR which may include change, transformation and acquisition.

HR Officer (9-month FTC) requirements include...

Requirements of the HR Officer include:

  • CIPD Level 5 Diploma/MCIPD or equivalent experience/qualifications      
  • Previous experience as HR Business Officer/ HR Advisor/Business Partner
  • Proven ability to manage end to end recruitment
  • Able to manage large change projects & organisation restructures
  • Strong current knowledge of employment law, including TUPE
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • First class communication skills, able to work with all levels of staff
  • Management Coaching.

This role is currently based in Ashburton with parking provided and may (towards the end of 2018) relocate to Exeter however this is unconfirmed. It is anticipated that parking will be provided at the Exeter site.
