HR Manager

Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced HR Professional to assume an HR Manager role for a prestigious South-West company. A positive approach, robust character and first-class communication skills are all essential attributes – an easy sense of humour and a calm self-confidence will stand you in good stead too! The purpose of this role is to provide an effective and professional HR service across the business through the delivery of good HR practice, adherence to Employment law and Company Policy and Procedure.

HR Manager responsibilities include...

  • Provide advice on a variety of HR issues, including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment and employment law.
  • Manage and lead on disciplinary hearings, performance related matters, absence management, maternity processes and occupational health.
  • Maintain and up to date knowledge of employment legislation and provide support and advice to the managers and leaders in the business as needed Work closely with senior management to develop HR policies and continually improve the onboarding process
  • Working in partnership with the L&D team to ensure employee development and progression pathways are supported and encouraged
  • Responsible for driving the recruitment for the location, participating in the selection of employees and supporting the management through the recruitment journey

HR Manager requirements include...

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable HR generalist experience in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Confident, warm and personable communication style
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and build a rapport with employees at all levels
  • Practical working knowledge of current employment law
  • Approachable and sensitive when dealing with confidential issues, discreet and tactful
