Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced HR Manager for a well-known business in Newton Abbot. Our client is an excellent local employer with a fantastic reputation. A positive attitude, exceptional communications skills, and self confidence are all essential attributes, coupled with a robust character and a positive sense of humour. The purpose of this role is to provide a professional, effective HR service through the application of Company Procedures. This position is 25.5 hours per week, and would suit someone looking for 5 short days or 3 full days.

HR Manager (part time) responsibilities include...

  • To work closely with all Heads of Department, providing advice on a range of HR issues, such as policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment and employment law.
  • Support all disciplinary hearings, performance related matters, absence management, maternity processes and occupational health.
  • Keep up to date on employment legislation and advise management on risk management in a timely manner
  • Work closely with senior management to develop HR policies and continually improve the onboarding process
  • Work closely with Learning and Development professionals to support employee development and progression pathways
  • Support Heads of Department in recruitment processes and participate in the selection of staff
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to at all times

HR Manager (part time) requirements include...

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Proven generalist experience in a busy environment
  • Open, personable communication style
  • Ability to work with all stakeholders and build a rapport with employees at all levels
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Approachable, patient and sensitive when dealing with confidential issues
