Full Stack Developer

Cathedral Appointments are seeking a highly experienced Software Developer to design and code tools for a highly successful, extremely high growth business in Exeter. The purpose of this position is to write clear, optimised code to produce fully functional software applications.

Full Stack Developer responsibilities include...

  • Build complex software systems in an agile environment
  • Investigate, research and resolve technical challenges
  • Communicate with users, technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
  • Work closely with decision makers to implement high quality software solutions for all aspects of the business -  these will have both internal and external impact, and be visible to both customers & partners
  • Write high quality code to programme complete applications within set deadlines
  • Develop unit and integration tests
  • Replicate and resolve application defects
  • Document code
  • Reassess and troubleshoot the existing code base as necessary 

Full Stack Developer requirements include...

  • Extensive knowledge of PHP 5+, MySQL, working with MVC frameworks
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML, JavaScript & jQuery
  • Experience working on LAMP stacks
  • Demonstrable experience working with third party RESTful APIs
  • Ideally, working knowledge of Jira or a similar tool
  • Recent exposure to a fast-paced, commercial environment is highly desirable

 

You will be given freedom to work highly independently within this position, so the ability to thrive without constant supervision is essential. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of web app coding for a multitude of browsers and a desire to join a small team with big ambitions. If you have skills/an interest in automated testing/info security, it would be highly advantageous!
