This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to join an established company based in South Devon. The Company has recently diversified in providing additional products that support their core business stream. Adding a B2C revenue opportunity that is growing and complimenting their current business.

Reporting directly to the MD. As Finance Controller you will be managing a small but growing team with strong organisational and technical skills and proven track record within ideally a manufacturing environment.

You must have experience of leading a team, yet also an excellent team player, mentoring the Finance Team to ensure each achieves their personal and professional potential.

Financial Controller responsibilities include...

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of monthly management accounts, including processing journals and accruals and investigating any variances
  • Analysing month and year to date performance, reporting on any variances to budget and forecast
  • Preparing Management and Board reports clearly identifying successes and key risks of the business
  • Reviewing costs to identify cost savings, leading the improvement measures.
  • Management of cash flow
  • Timely and accurate preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and monthly Intrastat and EC sales returns
  • Overseeing weekly and monthly payroll
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts and liaising with budget holders
  • Responsible for the creation of finance policies
  • Improvement and monitoring of internal processes and controls
  • Liaising with managers to ensure mutual awareness of issues, current developments and priorities of the company
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Management of Credit Control function
  • Managing, mentoring and supporting the finance team

Financial Controller requirements include...

Qualifications

CIMA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years PQE, ideally with a relevant degree and supporting A levels and GCSE’s/ 'O’ Levels of grade C or above.

Software

Significant experience in manufacturing accounting environment essential, with systems implementation experience an advantage. Advanced excel skills also essential for accurate analysis and financial reporting.
