Cathedral Appointment is looking for a Finance/Payroll Officer for our client based in Totnes. Our client is a worthwhile charity who offer support to adults and young people across the UK. The successful candidate will be based in their beautifully located office in Totnes with easy access to both the River Dart and the town centre. As the successful Finance/Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for running payroll, finance processes and any other general financial duties. 

Finance/Payroll Officer responsibilities include...

  • Payroll
    • Manage the payroll process for approx. 400 staff members on various contracts
    • Manage VISMA/iTrent processes and reports within the monthly payroll
    • Deal with payslip and payroll queries, liaising with staff to resolve issues
    • Maintain annual leave and sick records
    • Process staff amendment forms
    • Capture approved contract changes into the system
  • Finance Processes
    • Provide support and training on billing, income returns, procurement card return, petty cash and cheque returns
    • Process card returns, petty cash and cheque returns
    • Process starter and leaver data
  • Other Financial Administration
    • Check transaction listings
    • Monitor the expenditure vs budget
    • Allocation/coding of costs across the business 

 

 

Finance/Payroll Officer requirements include...

  • Previous experience within a finance or payroll position
  • A good team player with great communication skills
  • Highly organised
  • Share information and ideas openly, honestly and in a positive manner
  • Communicates well face to face, over the phone and via email
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work load
