Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting for an Estimator for a specialist Engineering company. The Estimator is required to provide estimates and quotations for the supply and installation of a specialist heating products for both new build and existing properties.

The client has several offices, but this role will be based in the Exeter office, working Monday to Friday. This role will involve regular travel to active, or potential sites anywhere in the country, as well as the company’s other offices.

Estimator responsibilities include...

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather construction information about existing or planned properties using a variety of resources.
  • To support the sales team and client with pre-order technical information and guidance.
  • Engage in initial conversations with clients, architects and internal design meetings.
  • Gather as much information about the properties as possible and make the estimates of heat with the information provided.
  • To assist sales staff with preparation of quotations for clients.
  • Update quotations once detailed design and sub-contractor quotes are confirmed.
  • Review and maintain the estimating database and make recommendations for improvements to increase competitiveness.

Key Requirements:

  • Thorough and methodical approach to gathering data from various sources.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to manipulate data and integrate utilising formulas.
  • Be reliable, punctual and structure their own schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills are vital.
  • Previous Estimating experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in renewable energy would be beneficial.
