Director of Services (Charity) – Excellent opportunity to join a growing and successful Charity in beautiful East Devon.  This is a brand new position and the successful Director of Services will be accountable for the strategic development and operational leadership of the Charity.


Director of Services (Charity) responsibilities include...

·         Bring leadership, clear direction and support to ensure that all volunteers and staff feel valued and supported and that the Trust is seen as an Employer of Choice.

·         In conjunction with the Board of Trustees prepare and deliver an annual strategic plan.

·         Develop performance management processes that align the performance of all team members to the strategic direction of the Trust.

·         Full responsibility for governance and compliance - ensure the Trust meets the regulatory requirements of the Charity Commission, Care Quality Commission and other statutory and legal bodies.

·         Ensure that the Board of Trustees is provided with management information to ensure informed decision making and the probity and security of the Trust

·         Develop clear and deliverable financial strategies that ensure the sustainable future of the Trust.

·         Prepare and monitor budgets and support the Board of Trustees with relevant and meaningful financial information as required.

·         Represent the Trust and its work at the highest possible level, bringing credibility and professional gravitas to the delivery of its services.

·         Raise the profile of the Trust by networking, making positive relations with the local media and general public.

·         Devise and implement an effective PR and marketing strategy to promote the work of the Trust.

·         In conjunction with the Board of Trustees, staff and volunteers prepare and publish an annual report of the Trust's activities.

Director of Services (Charity) requirements include...

·         Senior management and leadership experience.

·         Broad knowledge of current health/social care/voluntary issues.

·         Strong financial management experience.

·         Strategic business planning ability.

·         Strong understanding of legal and governance responsibilities.

·         Previous experience of working with Boards, Trustees and Volunteers is highly desirable.

·         Full driving licence and own transport.
