Cathedral Appointments are seeking an experienced Data Analyst for a fantastic 3 month fixed term contract based in Exeter. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the maintenance and management of our client’s CRM database in accordance with Data Protection laws and GDPR, ensuring the security and legal processing of customer data and identifying the minimum data storage requirements for each customer.

To import and export data as required in order to write and run regular and ad hoc reports for members of the team. To interpret such data and advise team members of the implications.

To keep up to date with changes and updates to the CRM system and train the team in new systems or procedures as required. Act as the team liaison point of contact for software suppliers, IT support and phone support.

Data Analyst responsibilities include...

  • To maintain the administration and configuration functions, web services and plug-ins to the CRM database.
  • To ensure data remains clean through merging, de-duping and amending of records.
  • To import data from agreed internal and external suppliers, ensuring the matching of fields to facilitate speedy data extraction and reporting.
  • To liaise with the Finance department to ensure nominal coding is matched and recorded on supporter records.
  • To write and produce KPIs for the team and individual managers within the team.  Run these reports regularly and advise on interpretation and conclusions resulting from these.
  • To assist with the training of staff in the use of the database, both desktop and cloud versions. Maintain an up to date ‘How to do’ library and SOPs for all activities. 

Data Analyst requirements include...

  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, in particular Excel at an intermediate level)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of working with CRM databases
  • Logical thought processes to be able to extract accurate data, analyse and summarise
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Analytical experience in researching, evaluating and monitoring data
  • Writing complex queries to produce accurate mailing lists
  • A good eye for detail
  • Able to prioritise own workload
