Credit and Customer Dispute Controller opportunity for an established and highly regarding Exeter based employer! Dealing with Customer disputes and improve the collection of monies owed to the company. Reposting to the Head of Credit and Compliance, the successful candidate will assist in providing timely financial information to support the company’s corporate and statutory requirements. 

Credit & Customer Dispute Controller responsibilities include...

Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • To work alongside credit control and customer facing staff to ensure the timely resolution of queries enabling the prompt payment of invoices by customers
  • To investigate customer disputes on invoices
  • To accurately assess and quantify queries and determine required action.
  • To make necessary enquiries with internal sales and sales and logistics staff
  • To gather evidence and date, to assess the validity of the customer queries
  • To raise valid credits in a timely manner
  • To reject invalid claims in a timely manner
  • To develop and maintain a good relationship with the credit control team, working together to establish processes for chasing debt
  • To develop and maintain good relationship with stakeholders
  • To act as the primary coordinator once an invoice has been placed in query
  • To devise a reporting system that tracks queries and highlights trends over time
  • To make adjustments, handle queries and resolve problems

Credit & Customer Dispute Controller requirements include...

Personality and essential skills for this role include:

  • Experience of working in a customer or credit control environment
  • Administrative experience within an office environment
  • Knowledge of resolving customer disputes
  • General knowledge and experience of using SAP
  • Knowledge of finance operations and basics of credit and debit would be an advantage but advantageous
  • IT skills including Word, Outlook and Excel are essential
  • Exposure to credit control or customer services or liaison work is essential
  • The ability to prioritise, to keep good time management and to meet demands and deadlines
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, independently and objectively
  • A strong communicator
  • An inquisitive nature who enjoys establishing facts, making enquiries and solving problems
  • An effective telephone manner
