Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting for a Construction Solicitor to join our client’s well-established, prestigious office based in Exeter. This role would be suitable for a Solicitor with between 2 to 6 years’ PQE. This role is primarily non-contentious with a transactional workload, but the successful candidate will also be expected to undertake contentious construction engineering work, where appropriate. You will have the opportunity to work for clients across the construction supply chain on some leading national and regional projects across a diverse range of sectors, including central and local government, renewables and health. 

Construction Solicitor (2-6 years’ PQE) responsibilities include...

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

-          Drafting building contracts and associated sub-contracts

-          Completing development agreements, maintenance and FM agreements, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, all forms of security documentation, project monitoring and dispute avoidance

-          Participating in cross department work with the national Projects, Property or Energy team as required

-          Developing, supporting and training junior and professional support staff effectively, encouraging them to produce high quality work at all times

-          Assisting the Partners with growing the practice by preparing details for seminars, drafting email bulletins and participating in business development events

Construction Solicitor (2-6 years’ PQE) requirements include...


-Qualified Solicitor, with between 2 and 6 years’ PQE

-Solid experience in Construction and Engineering gained from a leading law firm

-Strong interpersonal skills and an effective communicator at all levels (both written and verbally)

-Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a commitment to a career in Law

-Excellent organisational and time management skills
