Communications Coordinator (Press and PR)  - We are seeking an experienced Communications Coordinator to provide a complete news, media, and public relations service for our client. The main purpose of the role is to deliver a communication strategy to maintain and enhance the company reputation.   As part of the role, you will develop a high-quality portfolio of corporate publications by coordinating production, ensuring that it is delivered on time, in line with brand image, and within budget.

  • To research, identify, and promote positive news and updates regarding the company’s outputs, and distribute appropriate releases across various media
  • To respond to all stories and enquiries – both positive and negative – in a quick and efficient manner
  • To develop a programme of internal and external publicity based on the company’s communications strategy and action plans to include: publications, media releases, and events.
  • To liaise closely with other staff to promote specific projects, campaigns, policies and events in line with corporate priorities
  • To develop PR action plans of short, medium and long-term duration
  • To develop and maintain strong working relationships with local and national media, external stakeholders, customer representatives, board members, and staff at all levels
  • To organise and run publicity events including scheme openings and VIP events

  • Proven record of developing and delivering PR plans with evidence of results achieved
  • Background of successfully planning and responding to media stories
  • Proven experience of organising events and conferences
  • Confident and creative communication skills
  • Able to produce professional, lively, persuasive material that appeals to a variety of stakeholders
  • First class proof reading skills and an excellent grasp of grammar
  • Able to interpret strategic aims into specific, targeted and deliverable activities
  • Ideally CIPR qualified
  • Full Driving License and transport

As Communications Coordinator you will fulfil a wide range of customer, staff and stakeholder communication needs for a multi-function and geographically dispersed organisation. The successful candidate will have knowledge of corporate communications and PR functions, including experience of advising senior managers on key communications and PR functions.
