Job Purpose

To assist the CEO and CFO with their work in carrying out the day to day business of the MAT. To act as the clerk and secretary to the Board of Directors of the MAT and its sub-committees and other meetings of the senior management of the MAT. To assist the Directors of the MAT in ensuring that the MAT complies with company law and Department of Education regulations and acts in accordance with the MAT’s Articles of Association in the administration of its business. To advise and assist Directors and Senior Management on administrative matters and procedures in relation to governance. To promote and safeguard the good name and values of the MAT.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directors’ and Other Meetings – produce and distribute agendas, recording attendance and absences, preparing accurate minutes and noting follow up actions
  • Board Administration – coordinating AGMs, administration relating to the appointment, election or termination of Directors including relevant documentation, coordinating annual accounts and ensuring relevant documentation completed by members of the Board and undertaking DBS checks
  • General Administration – supporting the CEO and CFO with their daily tasks including organising of meetings, venues and hospitality and maintaining records of correspondence

Applications are invited from individuals who can display previous experience within a similar clerk’s role, coupled with extensive experience of taking minutes at meetings. Confident and persuasive communication skills are key for the role as is a high attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
