Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager– this is an outstanding opportunity for a self-motivated BDM to join a reputable consultancy business providing solutions to the civil engineering industries. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the main purpose of this role will be to carry out sales activities, identifying and developing new business opportunities to generate the maximum amount of profitable sales in line with company objectives.

Core duties and responsibilities will include: -

  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication links to identify new opportunities.
  • Proactively generating sales to achieve company-wide targets.
  • Identifying opportunities with potential customers, products and services and developing these into results.
  • Research internal and external market information and investment plans to enable the group to identify opportunities. 

Business Development Manager requirements include...

The ideal Business Development Manager will offer the following:-

  • Commercially focused with an entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach.
  • Knowledge of contracting within Civil Engineering industry, rail, highways etc
  • A consultative and solution bases sales approach, developing effective long-term relationships.
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving Licence. 

My client has offices nationally and this role will in the main work remotely from a Somerset or Devon base.  The appointed BDM will offer relevant experience and a successful track record of developing and managing large scale contracts.  A competitive basic salary is offered plus a car or car allowance. Interviews will take place early September.
