Cathedral Appointments are recruiting an experienced Business Development Executive for our Exeter-based client. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave.

The main purpose of the role will be to support various divisions for the firm, and selected complementary services and products on the delivery of agreed objective and plans. The successful applicant will support the firm’s business development managers on key deliverables for departmental and divisional plans, and will co-ordinate the delivery of projects and business development plan, initiatives, campaigns, and events with the wider business development and management teams.  

Business Development Executive responsibilities include...

  • Leading and supporting the senior BDM at departmental and divisional levels on all Business Development activities including:
    • Pitching
    • Presentation creation
    • Event support
    • Client initiatives
    • Marketing budgets
  • Drafting and implementing departmental business and marketing plans
  • Providing support to partners and fee-earners to help them build and maintain relationships and pursue opportunities with existing clients and targets
  • Overseeing the organisation of all marketing events and production of literature for events including seminars, hospitality, and exhibitions: using market knowledge to adapt and drive marketing plans
  • Working with the PR and internal communications team to maintain and build profiles across the practices
  • Identifying opportunities for new business through research, and developing and implementing a programme of issues-led research

Business Development Executive requirements include...

The successful candidate may already be working at Marketing or Business Development level within a professional services firm, and will educated to degree level or equivalent within marketing, sales, or account management. Candidates will have a proven track record of marketing and business development within professional services.
