Devon Air Ambulance are seeking a highly personable individual to join their team as an Assistant Shop Manager. The role requires an individual with an excellent ability to form and hold relationships in order to maximise fundraising opportunities. The main purpose of the role is to assist the manager with the efficient operation of the Trust’s shop, to provide cover for the shop manager in their absence, and to ensure that the shop and shop volunteers are effectively managed.

Assistant Shop Manager responsibilities include...

  • To ensure health and safety procedures are regularly carried out according to policies and guidelines
  • Reviewing the performance of the shop on a regular basis and discussing this with the shop manager
  • Oversee the logistics of stock sorting, stock presentation, stock rotation, and stock recycling for unsold items
  • Conduct regular checks on the company vehicle to include oil checks and tyres and screen wash checks, and to report any problems
  • Run a weekly returns report in the manager’s absence
  • Manage donations, and promote Gift Aid registrations 

Assistant Shop Manager requirements include...

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to be flexible to operate with minimal supervision 
  • Basic IT skills
  • A good problem solver
  • Sales experience
  • Works well as part of a team with a “can-do” attitude

This post will involve regular manual handling and lifting therefore the employee must be physically fit and willing to undertake statutory training
