This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a long-standing law firm with an impressive client base and an excellent reputation to match. As Assistant Practice Manager, your main purpose will be to provide direct support to the Practice Manager to enable the firm to operate at optimum efficiency.

Assistant Practice Manager responsibilities include...

  • Human Resources

    • Including recruitment, maintaining personnel records, issuing contracts, organising staff appraisals, sickness and holiday management, joiner and leaver paperwork and any other HR administrative duties.
  • IT

    • Managing IT network issues, PC’s and case management software as well as working with the IT service providers to ensure systems and software remain operational and meet the requirements of the company.
  • Events

    • Managing and organising events, both organised or attended by the firm and attending as required.
    • Liaison with internal departments and local press on articles for publication in local press, including proof reading and cost negotiation.
  • Compliance

    • Ensuring company compliance for Lexcel and CQS and dealing with annual renewal process
    • Preparing for and documenting FE monthly visits
    • Monitoring of secretarial breaches and providing support and training to resolve as well as the implementation of changes
  • Health & Safety/Facilities
    • Managing all offices from a general building and maintenance perspective and dealing with any issues
    • Ensuring Health and Safety compliance across all offices
  • Office management and administration

    • Making appointing and coordinating meetings on behalf of the Practice Manager
    • Deputising in the Practice Manager’s absence
    • Working with the Practice Manager to push through various projects to completion

This is a varied and challenging role with a real opportunity to be involved at the heart of a busy and thriving business. Candidates who are able to display experience within a similar role, as well as legal experience, would be preferred though candidates able to show relevant experience within a different industry sector may also be considered. Candidates must be able to work autonomously and take responsibility for their own workload and work in a time critical manner to push through projects and tasks and juggle a busy and varied workload. Travel between offices will be required and as such, a driving licence is required.
