Accounts Assistant opportunity working for an established legal firm in beautiful Kingsbridge. The successful candidate will assist in the smooth running of the practice by attending to the various financial transactions arising from the work of the firm and its internal operation. This role will comply with the rule and terms set out by the Director and of the office manual.

Accounts Assistant responsibilities include...

  • To undertake daily banking functions, including paying monies in and checking for monies in and monies out
  • bank reconciliations
  • The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings
  • The preparation of cheques through the accounts system
  • The processing of bank transfers
  • Daily filing of postings and nominal ledger slips
  • Daily processing of bills and checking completion statements
  • To undertake any specific training when required
  • To maintain up to date knowledge of solicitors Accounts rules
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all the company’s and client documentation 

Accounts Assistant requirements include...

  • Previous experience within a finance role
  • Previous experience working within in legal environment would be advantageous
  • An accountancy qualification is desirable but not essential
  • The ability to desire and learn legal accounts procedures, including report management and budget preparation
  • Keen to develop within the role and take on responsibility to enable cover within the department when necessary
