Job Description: I am currently working with number of legal clients looking for candidates with legal cashiering experience from junior to supervisory level. Duties will include:- * To provide a first class and comprehensive service to fee earners and support staff. To ensure that queries are dealt with promptly and accurately. To draw the attention of fee earners/ secretaries to miscalculations/errors in bills and posting slips and rectify these or return them for recalculation as appropriate. * To collate and send statements and bill reminders in accordance with the firms procedures. * To understand the difference between office and client ledgers and to be familiar with the operation of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and report any possible breaches of SAR. * To understand VAT rules and be able to calculate and check VAT both on the firm's invoices to clients and suppliers invoices to the firm. To be able to complete the VAT returns. * To be able to post a wide range of transactions to the computer swiftly and accurately. * To reconcile client and office bank accounts on a daily basis. * To be able to carry out month end procedures and produce and distribute relevant reports. * To understand and be able to operate the electronic banking facility. To be able to process various types of transactions that the system can handle. * To make payments from the petty cash and when required to effect a precise reconciliation. * To be aware of the weekly and monthly reports produced and to produce these and other ad hoc reports as required. * To be able to post & pay supplier invoices on a weekly basis. Send payments and produce remittance advices. * To be able to understand and post prepayments & recurring entries at month end. For the post of legal cashier, my client is seeking previous experience gained from an accounts environment, preferably in a solicitor's office, credit control experience and excellent communication skills.

The purpose of the job is to provide an efficient and effective Accounts service ensuring prompt processing of Accounts queries and assist the Firm in its overall objectives including client care.
