    Job Description: Head of Communications – This is a newly created role within a growing and successful regional organisation. As Head of Communications you will be responsible for the following:- • Develop and implement all external and internal communications strategies. • Develop an effective brand framework. Be responsible for the continuing development of brand identities • Be responsible for developing communications, marketing and publicity budgets, and deliver all activities within these. • Ensure that all areas of communications maintain and enhance external and internal reputation. • Line-manage the communications team. • Be lead editor for corporate print publications such as business plans, annual reports, stakeholder briefings and staff newsletters. Ensure that the messages of these publications support the overall strategy. • Be lead editor for websites and intranet, and be responsible for a framework that ensures staff keep content relevant and up-to-date. Ensure that the messages of the websites and intranet support the strategy. • Ensure that the communication methods take full advantage of technological changes and opportunities in new media. Suitable candidates for the post of Head of Communications will possess the following:- • Degree or equivalent level of education • Recognised communications or marketing qualification • Substantial experience in communications, PR or marketing • Successful experience of developing and implementing external and internal communications strategies • Experience of successfully managing highly effective communications during times of change • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to produce professional, lively, persuasive material • Excellent team management and leadership skills • Gravitas, confidence and enthusiasm! • Tact and diplomacy with strong influencing skills This is an excellent opportunity with a leading South West employer.
