Trust in Us to Recruit Trustees
For some time we have been finding Trustees for our Charity clients on an informal basis and have now decided to offer this as an additional service. Cathedral Executive and Cathedral Appointments have a wide range of contacts built up over the last twenty-two years from both the business and not-for-profit sectors. We can help you identify what skills and experience you need for your board and on your behalf identify and approach individuals who may be interested in becoming a charity trustee. Our fees are very affordable and depend on your annual income. Please contact me for further information. JD
SOCIAL MEDIA SEMINAR
On Wednesday 18th November, we co-hosted a free mini seminar for some of our charity clients to look at how social media can be used to communicate their cause to the wider community. Everys Solicitors very kindly made their fantastic new board room available for the event and provided the refreshments. Members of the Optix Solutions team tweeted throughout to demonstrate the immediacy of communicating using social media. James Barisic, charity law specialist with Everys, and Alistair Gleave, Business Development Manager with Optix Solutions, delivered the very entertaining and informative presentation which gave an introduction to the different social media sites and how they can be used. The discussion continued afterward over wine! It was great to see a number of different charities in attendance and a further seminar is planned soon.
CHARITY SPOTLIGHT
Sparks is a charity dedicated to funding pioneering paediatric research with a single aim: A happy and healthy future for every child. For expectant parents the main concern isn't whether they have a boy or girl, but a healthy baby. Every year in the UK 700,000 babies are born. Most are born healthy, but sadly 1 in 30-that's one in the average school classroom-- will be born with a condition or disability which can affect them for life.
Sparks is a unique children's charity funding cutting edge medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure for conditions and illnesses affecting children, babies and expectant mothers. Childhood cancer, childhood arthritis, meningitis, club foot, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and the risks associated with premature birth are just a few of the areas where Sparks funded doctors and scientists are leading the race to save lives.
The charity counts on individuals and corporate partners to help them raise the money and awareness necessary to meet their aims. There are just a few examples below of how the charity needs businesses to help make a difference.
