Wednesday 17th November 2010The number of people unemployed in the UK slipped by 9000 in the three months to September.Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show that total unemployment remains at 2.45 million - with the overall unemployment rate also unchanged at 7.7%.The claimant count - those out of work and receiving benefits - also fell slightly in October, by 3700 to 1.47 million.Meanwhile, overall employment in the UK economy increased 167,000 in the three months to September, compared with the previous quarter - reaching 29.19 million, the ONS figures revealed.
