    Job Description: Production Engineer required for a successful manufacturing facility that export their products worldwide. This is a new role and will be reporting in to the Senior Production Engineer. You will be responsible for acting as an interface internally with production, research and development and sales, as well as with external suppliers. You will be required to investigate and implement value engineering processes in order to reduce costs, improve quality, and develop the overall efficiencies within the department. In addition, you will be required to work closely with the new product development team on the prototyping of the products and advise where necessary on technical aspects of the development process. Experience of working within a similar position is required, as well as a relevant qualification, ideally within Mechanical Engineering. This is a super opportunity for someone to be part of an exciting team at this stage of business growth. Please note that the successful candidate will be required to travel abroad on a regular basis.

Reporting to the Applications Manager the main purpose of this position will be to provide a high standard of technical customer service and support to clients in respect of the creation of their designs and projects. This is a super role, which will involve liaising internally with production, the technical team, sales and design. You will be required to carry out technical visits to clients in the UK and overseas, liaise with production with regards to the manufacturing and quality of the products and contribute to the resolution of technical problems and to the develop of the products. Ideally you will come from a design background within a mechanical industry and will be a competent user of engineering design software. A methodical approach, good problem solving skills and the ability to think on your feet and work to deadlines is also required.
